There is no campaign we are prouder of than our #SpreadFactsNotFear partnership with The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (“the IFRC”).

Welcome to our column “Influencer Spotlight” — where we highlight our favorite content creators. Enjoy!

Holly, is a 21 year old professional content creator, blogger, and model from the North West.  We love her simplistic style and creative eye in capturing the beauty in the every day and expressing that in her work. She answered our questions about her biggest accomplishments to date; brands that are doing social media right during the COVID-19 pandemic; and much more!

How did you get started creating content?

I began blogging back in 2014/2015. I had always loved reading blogs, following other bloggers and being creative myself too. I wrote on my blog for a while just after I left high school, but it wasn’t really until 2015 where I really began to pour myself into it. I’d dropped out of college due to illness and found myself looking for a direction to take my life – I decided I should finally bite the bullet and do something I’ve always wanted to do, and I’m so glad I made that choice!

What’s something new you started doing during quarantine?

During quarantine, I’ve really been enjoying reading more. I don’t normally give myself enough down-time to relax and read through the books that have been piling up on my shelves, but over the last 3 months I’ve really been indulging in the escapism a good book brings. I think it’s a really nice way to immerse yourself in something other than the online world when you’re stuck indoors all day! Some books I’ve loved are ‘Normal People’ by Sally Rooney and ‘The Insecure Girl’s Handbook’ by Olivia Purvis.

Define your style in 3 words.

Oh, this is hard! I never know how to describe my style. I would probably have to say: Minimal, Neutral and Miscellaneous. I really like a mixture of ‘femme’ dresses and pieces, as well as cool, androgynous vibes.

What is the biggest highlight of your influencer career so far?

I think one of my biggest highlights would have to be attending the BAFTAs last year. I was brought along in collaboration with a jewellery brand, Carat London, and it was probably one of the most surreal and amazing experiences of my life! I have so many highlights though – every collaboration I work on feels like such an achievement. I never thought I’d be at a place where this hobby would become a job that I love!

Who and what inspires you? (A film, artist, book, social movement, friend or family member?)

I’m always very much inspired by the world around me. Whether it’s the colour of a flower, a quote from a book, the sound of the rain pouring. It sounds very cliché and poetic, but I really do find inspiration from all over the place. In terms of beauty and style, I always feel inspired by other creatives on social media, as well as magazine editorials and tv shows. There’s inspiration everywhere!

What is a brand you think is doing things right on social? And why?

A brand I’m really admiring right now is A Weathered Penny. Not only do they have a beautiful collection of products, but they’re also a brand who stand for a lot of different things, whilst encouraging and working with a diverse and talented range of creatives. They recently donated their profits to BLM during black-out week and have also allowed me to chat about my experience with Mental Health on their site too. They’re just a really lovely brand!

If you could share one tip for someone building their Instagram channel, what would it be?

It’s probably the most repeated piece of advice ever, but I would just say, be yourself! It’s such a saturated market out there and nothing will make you stand out more than being your unique self. It takes hard work to make this thing into a career, but if you have a love for creating and sharing what you love then it’s all worth it!
