The IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising) and its members believe 2021 is the year adland needs to take action for diversity and inclusion. It’s this belief that inspired the newly launched IPA Fairness Hub, which is an extension of the IPA’s ‘Future of Fairness’ publication.

BDB is delighted to announce that Ed Bernardino, BDB’s Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion Partner, is helping to lead the development of IPA’s Fairness Hub as a member of the newly appointed IPA Talent Leadership Group. The group’s intention is to attract new and diverse talent to the industry and support agencies in achieving their diversity and inclusion goals, no matter where they are in their journey.

In addition, the group will work collaboratively with key partners to deliver a programme of inspirational events and initiatives throughout the year.

Annie Gallimore, Managing Director at ACNE London and Chair of the IPA Talent Leadership Group and Leila Siddiqi, Associate Director Diversity at IPA will lead the agenda.

“I am pleased to be part of the IPA Talent Leadership Group and to be working with some amazing, talented and inspiring people who are passionate about belonging. Whilst there is still a lot of work to be done, we are all working together to drive D&I initiatives in our industry, which is very exciting,” said Ed Bernardino, Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion Partner at Billion Dollar Boy.

BDB is driven by a desire to better inform the way the agency approaches ethnicity, race, culture and religion within the industry. Therefore, the agency strives for greater authentic representation within the business, and importantly, the agency’s output.

“The team wants to inspire and support both our talent and our clients through open, honest discussion, project-led action, and build a hub to offer a greater spectrum of cultural insights. We are constantly having conversations with our teams to make sure this is always at the top of our priorities. Recently, we worked with the IPA Virtual fair where we hired two candidates for an internship,” commented Bernardino.
