Fashion Influencer Martin Salomon tells a beautiful story of New York City.

Welcome to our “Influencer Spotlight” column, where we highlight some of our favorite content creators.

If you aren’t following Martin Salomon on Instagram, you’re missing out! His super stylish feed features elevated, cinematic shots of New York that tell the story of the city without words; it would make anyone want to live there.

We’ve enjoyed working with him on campaigns with Primark and we can’t get enough of his crisp, clean aesthetic. In fact, we recently interviewed him to get to know him a little better. Read below to check out his Q&A.

How did you get started creating content?

I always wanted a creative outlet to share the things I’m passionate about from my own distinct perspective, so one day I just started putting myself out there on Instagram.

What does a typical day in your life look like?

If I don’t have to go to work, I usually wake up early in the morning so I can check my calendar and emails to set up everything I have to do that day. This could be a meeting, a shoot for an upcoming project or sending content for approval. After that, I make myself an iced chai latte and decide if I want to hit the gym or take a meditation or yoga class.

Around noon, I go back home and get ready to meet with my photographer to create new content. Then I typically have meetings with friends or industry insiders to catch up, and discuss what’s happening in the space. In the evening, I’m either at an event celebrating a new brand launch or making dinner at home and watching a show before bedtime at 10:30 pm.

Define your style in 3 words.

Sophisticated, Clean and Modern.

Who and what inspires you? (A film, artist, book, social movement, friend or family member?)

My parents are my biggest source of inspiration and I’m continually inspired by the things (New York City, fellow content creators, magazines) that surround me as well.

What is the biggest highlight of your influencer career so far?

No doubt, when GQ Magazine kindly asked me to be part of their GQ Insider program. Featuring in GQ has been one of my goals since I first became a reader (when I was 14), so as you can imagine it was one of my happiest days.

What has been your favorite branded campaign you have worked on and why?

I have to say my campaign for French Connection. I’ve been working with them for over three years and what I love the most is the fact that they give me full creative license when producing content.

If you could share one tip for someone building their Instagram channel, what would it be?

To always stay true to yourself and to have a clear aesthetic.

What is a brand you think is doing things right on social? And why?

It has to be Primark; their values are important to me. Above all, I love their inclusivity, which is something we need to see more in this space. They also believe in individuality: not everyone looks the same! We all come in different shapes, skin tones and have different mindsets.
